is about my passion for adventure sports, adrenaline, extreme gear (my favorite!), nutrition and fitness.
You'll find pictures of myself and teammates in extreme adventure races, most notably Primal Quest.

GEAR, NUTRITION AND TRAINING

When I entered the adventure sports world, there was a lot of information on extreme sports, but no

hard-core fitness plans,

gear guides or

nutrition plans

on how to get to the top.


I was blessed to race with a professional adventure racer and world-class tri-athlete. For a year, I questioned him every day.

How fast do you ride your mountain bike?

How many hours do you train for an extreme expedition race?

How do you rappel?

Ascend?

White water raft?

Practice mountaineering?

What do you eat?


The responses were awesome and honest. Extreme-Adventure-Sports.com is about sharing the nutrition advice, skills training, fitness plans (this is not for wimps!), gear tips and of course great race stories I learned about.

WHY EXTREME SPORTS?

Why? I get asked that question all the time. I ask myself the same question.

In fact I can't think of a race where I did not ask-why?

Though I can't say they are sane reasons...the following is a list of why!

EXTREME ADVENTURES

It's 450 ft straight down......

I step backwards. The river flows below. My adrenaline races...I am free.

Then my hand grasps for the rope. It is taunt and I rappel down the rock cliff. It is day 3 of Primal Quest, the toughest adventure race on earth. Now this is adventure!

After 72 hours of racing, I've had...

one hour of sleep

infected feet

trekked 50 miles with 30 pounds of gear

kayaked 45 miles

biked 65 miles

done canyoneering for 20 miles

...and we have 250 miles to go!
